  • Ponce Bank, the community banking institution founded in 1960 with branches located throughout the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and Union City, New Jersey, has named Kim Ramos to the position of Vice President, Director of External Affairs.

    The announcement was made by Carlos P. Naudon, President and CEO of Ponce Bank.

    “Our appointment of Ms. Ramos marks an important milestone as our Bank moves forward in the communities we serve,” Mr. Naudon states. “As our stature as a true community Bank increases with time and as we continue to serve a diverse and growing population in the New York Metropolitan area, External Affairs has never been more critical to our short and long term efforts in the region. Establishing and solidifying relationships with external entities, whether they be business, political or civic, allows us to better serve our Business and Retail banking customers. Ms. Ramos, who is also an attorney, brings a breadth of knowledge and experience as our new Vice President of External Affairs; we look forward to her efforts in heightening the status of Ponce Bank among the numerous external entities with whom we engage now, and plan to work with going forward.”

    Ms. Ramos, recently worked as Director of Intergovernmental affairs for the Office of New York State Attorney General. In that role, Ms. Ramos developed and coordinated strategies that serve to foster, improve and maintain positive and mutually effective relationships, both internally and with key constituents, elected officials, community groups, Federal, State and City agencies, and other organizations.

    Prior to joining the Attorney General's office, Ms. Ramos served as the Deputy Secretary for Intergovernmental Relations to New York State Assembly Speaker Carl E. Heastie. She worked with the Assembly Majority conference to strengthen relationships with officials at the federal, state and local levels and to advance issues that are important to the hardworking families of the State of New York.

    Ms. Ramos spent 13 years working as Vice President and General Counsel to a major consulting firm specializing in government relations and strategic development for a variety of non-profit, corporate and private clients.

    A veteran leader working with Latino communities throughout New York State, Ms. Ramos has advocated on behalf of community-based organizations providing services in underserved communities to strengthen their legislative priorities and budgetary initiatives pending before the New York State Legislature and the New York City Council. She counseled and developed strategies on grassroots organizing, political outreach and relationship building, communications and marketing for labor organizations, major not-for-profits, advocacy groups and for elected officials. Ms. Ramos also actively participated in elections and campaigns focused on getting Latina/o and African American candidates elected to key positions in

    New York City and State government.

    Ms. Ramos has served as an Officer of the Puerto Rican Bar Association and as a former Chair of the Board of Directors of ACDP. She received her J.D. from Fordham University’s School of Law and is an alumna of Baruch College.
