Ponce Bank knows many of our customers have experienced direct financial impact from the COVID-19 pandemic currently ravaging our city and we’re here to help. The federal government, in passing the CARES act, has provided us with an unprecedented role to play in your recovery and we’ve set up this portal to provide access to critical information and resources that will guide you through the process of getting the help you need. We would like to be your go-to source of information about CARES and we look forward to showing our community that we are here by your side every step of the way. Our Story

Ponce Bank was born in The Bronx in 1960, a time when most banks had abandoned what was then perceived to be a community in decline but in which our founders saw nothing but the potential of proud neighborhoods anchored by a strong immigrant work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. They dreamed that all that was needed was a financial fuel. And in the 60 years since, we’ve provided that fuel for this engine of creativity and resilience and we’ve helped develop pockets of this spirit throughout The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and New Jersey. We never landed in comfortable places, choosing to help where help was needed most, and during this time we’ve become trusted partners throughout the communities we serve. Our designation as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) certifies this role as an investor in the future of underserved and underbanked communities.

In 2019, 84% of the dollars we loaned were in designated lower and moderate income communities and we’d like to assure you that we don’t intend to back down from this commitment. We were born here and we plan to stay.

Today, we all face an unprecedented challenge in the COVID-19 pandemic which is likely to affect the communities we serve more directly than many others. You may be a small business owner, a property owner whose rental income helps pay the bills, one of many heroic workers who’ve fueled the rise of our neighborhoods in recent decades or one of our many legacy customers upon whose vision and hard work our thriving communities were built.  Whomever you are, and regardless of who you are, know that Ponce Bank remains here to help you through these difficult times and those that lie ahead.
